1980, the son of Kenneth B. and Dorothy J. Papcnfuss Zitlow. Danny graduated from Lo mira High School in 1998 with a sports letter in golf. He was involved with Radioactive Sound, Custom Creation Car Club and Valley Moto Sports Raceway, all of Fond du Lac.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Lomira. He was employed with Micliels Pipeline, Brownsville. Survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Dorothy of Fond du Lac; two brothers, Kevin (Sue) of Fond du Lac, Douglas Are you in need? Broken Bread will distribute free food and a light meal at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug.

Everyone is welcome. Juicy Peaches! Fresh Apples! The Little Farmer, 921-4784 Vernon E. Vernon E. Sonnentag, 79, silently closed the doors on this life on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1999.

He went home to be with the Lord. Vernon was born May 19, 1920, in LeRoy, the son of Edmund and Elsie Krapfl Sonnentag. On April 19, 1947, he was united in marriage to Ruth Brunet at St. Louis Catholic Church. He was a 1938 graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School.

In 1941 he answered the call to serve his country. He served three years in the Army Air Forces at Kirtland Field, N.M., and two vears with the 94th Infantry Division operating in Europe, receiving an honorable discharge in 1946 as a sergeant. Following his military service, Vernon embarked on a 34-year career with the Soo Line Railroad, retiring in 1980 as chief clerk in North Fond du Lac. He was instrumental in establishing the Soo Line Employees Credit Union where he served as treasurer and manager until its merger with Merc Marine Credit Union. His dedication to the credit union movement also led him to serve on the boards of the Wisconsin Credit Union League and State Central Credit Union in Milwaukee.

After retirement, he was an active volunteer for 1 1 years with the St. Agnes Hospice Hope Program. He was a member of St. Mary's Parish, the Church's Holy Name Society, and served largaretE. Brunet rate droB Victor CPromen Statistics show 1,500 fewer abortions in Wisconsin in 1998 Margaret E.

Brunet, 84, formerly of 34 S. Berger Parkway, died Wednesday, Aug. II, 1999, at St. Francis Home where she had been atesident. She was born Jan.

28, 1915, in Stratford, the daughter of John and Pauline Hughes Cotter. OnJan.2, 1936, she married Bernard "Buck" Brunet at St. Louis Church. He preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1981.

Mrs. Brunet worked at Diamond Drive-Jn in food preparation. She helped establish the hot lunch program at St. Louis Church and organized festival dinners at the church. She was a member of St.

Louis Church and the St. Anne's Society. She was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting and prior to her husband's death, enjoyed traveling. Survivors include two sons, Pierre (Kaye) Brunet of Fond du Lac and Patrick (Dee) Brunet of Plymouth; two daughters, Diane Eugene Eugene James Fendt, 66, also called, Euge, Geno. Pa, Pop, Mr.

Fendt, Tiger, Puflball. Puffy and Grandpa, died around 1 a.m. Wednesday. Aug. 11, 1999.

He lived within a great circle of love as a husband, father, brother, friend, teacher and child of God. He died within that same great circle in which we arc all called to love and be of service to each other and the world. Eugene graduated in 1954 from the University of Wiscon-sin-Platteville with a bachelor's degree in education. On July 3, 1954, he married Mary V. Lorbecki in Watertown.

Mr. Fendt taught high school in De Soto before moving to Fond du Lac in 1957. He taught at Roosevelt, Sabish and Theisen before retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, St.

Lawrence Seminary Parent's Guild, and Fond du Lac Area Retired Educators Association (FAREA) which he encouraged all his colleagues to join. Survivors include his wife, Mary V. Lorbecki; his children, Geno, Laurie and Kamal Ham-mounda, Greg and Graciela, Mary "Mike" and John West, Marjie, Phillip, Steve and Diane R.Zitlovv of Milwaukee; one sister, Lynn (fiance Ray Broennimann) of Fond du Lac; one nephew, Derek Zitlow; a special great uncle and aunt, Leon and Olive Vossekuil of Waupun; other relatives and friends. Services: Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at St.

Mary's Catholic Church, Lomira. The Rev. Vincent Ho lubowicz will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation: From 1 p.m.

12, 1999 Anderson, 38, of Neenah, won a reduction Wednesday of 80-year prison term to 40 years following an opinion by appellate judges. Anderson appealed the original sentence, saying he received ineffective counsel because his lawyer did not ask for an adjournment of the sentencing hearing after getting the presentence only 30 minutes prior to hearing. The only increase in reported abortions over the past 10 years was from 1995 to 1996, when the number jumped by 891 to 13,673. The next year, the number decreased to 13,218, according to a report released Wednesday by the state Bureau of Health Information. In 1988, the number of reported abortions was 35 percent higher than last year, the report showed. There were 11,681 abortions reported in Wisconsin last year, compared to 13,218 reported in 1997, the report said.

He was born Sept. 12, 1903, in Fond du Lac, the son of John and Eva Mossong Promen. On Oct. 17, 1939, he married Margaret Gormican at St. Patrick's Parish.

Mr. Promen founded Badger Soft Water in 1945 and operated the business until his retirement. He was active in the Water Quality Association. He was a long-time member of St. Patrick's Church, a member of B.P.O.E.

Lodge 57, Eagles Aerie 270 and the Knights of Columbus Council 664. Victor served on the Fond du Lac County Board for 27 years.
