She worked during her early years at Richman Bros, and Spiegels as a credit manager, then as a homemaker. Bob was an Engine Tester with Mercury Marine and Mae was a Clarence "Dutch" Shirley Bindert Clarence "Dutch" and Shirley (Prill) Bindert celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.

They were married on September 1, 1950, at Church of Our Saviour in Fond du Lac. Dutch was employed at Mercury Marine until his retirement; Shirley was a Domestic Engineer. The couple are memebers of Hope Lutheran Church. They volunteer at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, where they have volunteered for many years. They have two daughters.

They are: Deborah Andrews and Karen (Kim) Suhs, both of Fond du Lac. The Binderts also have 3 grandchildren: Deanne, Keegan, and Kaleigh: 4 great-grandchildren: Rose, Jacob, Sam and Kellan; and 1 great-great grandchild, Nova. Teacher's Aide.
